What is Truth?

Today we want to look at one of the most important questions asked in the Bible. Christ was standing in the judgment hall, being accused by the Jews and talking with Pilate. Pilate had asked Him if He was a king. This was Pilate’s concern. He was looking at the world and only cared if Jesus was a political threat. For Him, this defined the reality. Christ’s reply was that He was a King, but not of this world. He had come into this world to bear witness to the truth. Pilate’s reply, posed as a question, was “What is Truth?” This question is a good question for us to think about today. We live in a day and age where many people don’t believe that you can know truth or even find truth. People are seen as how they define themselves and truth becomes a variable, not a constant. In this age, where we doubt the existence of truth, it is important to hear Christ’s statement. He came to bear witness of the truth. That means there IS truth, and Christ points us to it.
