Jesus before Caiaphas

Jesus' trial shows the conflict between the kingdom of God and the power of darkness. Jesus exposed the truth about his accusers, and gave his life as a ransom. He showed Simon Peter the truth about himself, and also showed that his safety lay in Jesus the Saviour. If we suppress conscience we will grow harder and be condemned when the Son of Man returns. If we want to serve God we need his grace. And if we see our failures we should remember there is a Saviour who has borne our sins and will lift us up again.
