The Spirit-filled Marriage

Paul commands the saints at Ephesus to be filled with the Spirit (5:18) and then helpfully provides three objective evidences of the Spirit-filled life: melody and gratitude and submission. The apostle then applies his instructions by calling for submission in three important relationships: marriage, parenting and the workplace. In marriage, this text features three keywords that characterize a Spirit-filled marriage: i.) submission (vv.22-24); ii.) love (vv.25-31); iii.) mystery (vv.32-33). Clearly, no one can live like this without the power and leadership of the Holy Spirit!
