The Fast Between Feasts

This is the fast between feasts. The story of Esther begins with a feast, it will end with a feast, and there are at least a couple more feasts scattered about, but this chapter is about a fast.

Feasting is about joy and satisfaction and plenty.
Fasting is about sorrow and discomfort and "holy discontent".

This sermon looks at the practice of fasting in Esther and also today. We also consider how Esther is called upon to act as a 'mediator' between the king and her people.
