I have seven Speckled Sussex chicks (a month old) in my mudroom. Listen, if my family doesn't get the avian flu no one will. Now I realize some of you may think awww baby chickens. No, think junior high girl with feathers. Out of the millions of peeps that could come to my home how is I get the psycho ones? Every morning, EVERY MORNING I clean their pen, change their water, and feed them. EVERY DAY I look at them multiple times and talk to them - didn't say 'conversation'. I even play sermons just so they don't get lonely. How do they thank me? Aww here comes our human mom to take care of us. NO. Nooooo. I swear to you I must look like Colonel Sanders' wife to them. Psycho junior high girls with feathers and it only takes one to get them all going and suddenly - Nancy Pelosi at a Trump convention - unbalanced. Who feeds them? Me. Who gives them fresh bedding and water? Me. Ok here may be the problem - who turns on the heat lamp that may feel like an Easy Bake Oven? Mrs. Sanders ... I mean ME. Why is it that the very person who has never let them go hungry or be put in danger (who out there has burned down their house with an Easy Bake?) is the very one they run from EVERY TIME. Crazy. Want to know something crazier? I still love them (and Nancy if you're reading this Jesus loves you). Why do I treat God the same way? A problem arises, hurts come, a relationship is rocky and we run to you tube, gaming, social media everywhere but to the One Who can heal. "Oh well I tried that before and God let me down." "You don't understand the hurt I've caused God won't forgive me." Friend, satan whispers lies - 'God won't', 'God failed', 'fantasize your way out of this pain'... The Bible tells us that our God's mercies are new every morning. He is willing to forgive if you are willing to ask for it. God's way - painful? - sometimes. Hard? - yes. Always work? YES. First, you need to make sure you have a relationship with His Son. Has there been a time you have repented of your sin and asked Christ for His free gift of salvation? If you haven't, don't put it off.  Christian, are you in His Word? Are you obeying it? Are you in a church that preaches God's Word? No, then start NOW. He's waiting. Don't be like the peeps who run away but run to Him. He will never forsake you.
