Resources
Thompson, Mark D. The Doctrine of Scripture: An Introduction. Short Studies in Systematic Theology, edited by Graham A. Cole and Oren R. Martin. Wheaton, IL: Crossway, 2022.
This is a good introduction to the doctrine of Scripture for those who have not yet read much on the subject, as well as for those who have.
Dockery, David S. The Doctrine of the Bible. Fort Worth, TX: Seminary Hill Press, 2020.
Dr. Dockery is the president of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He initially wrote this work in the 1990's when Southern Baptists were debating the inspiration of the Scriptures. Dr. Dockery presents a good defense of Scripture as inspired by God. We give God thanks that Southern Baptists came out of this debate affirming the inspiration of Scripture and stronger in their conviction of Scripture.
Komoszewski, J. Ed, M. James Sawyer, and Daniel B. Wallace. Reinventing Jesus: How Contemporary Skeptics Miss the Real Jesus and Mislead Popular Culture. Grand Rapids, MI: Kregel Publications, 2006.
The title of the book may not immediately suggest its relevance to the doctrine of Scripture. However, as we know, we ought not judge a book by its cover. This book serves as a helpful resource for understanding why the New Testament we possess today is authentic, accurate, and historically reliable.
John Gill, A Body of Doctrinal and Practical Divinity: or, A System of Evangelical Truths, Deduced from the Sacred Scriptures (Paris, AR: Baptist Standard Bearer, 2007), chap. 2, “Of the Holy Scriptures,” 11–25.
Gill was an influential Baptist both in his day (1697–1771) and for centuries after him. He wrote this systematic theology in 1769. The chapter on Scripture is as helpful today as it was then.
