Psalm 23 says "The Lord is my shepherd...Thy rod and thy staff comfort me." A shepherd uses his rod (crook) to lead, protect, rescue, and count the sheep. He does not beat the sheep. Discipline is important but includes much more than punishment, and there are lots of ways to punish without beating with a rod.

Wow what a sermon. Full of truth. Looked for an exposition of Isaiah 24 and you sir delivered and in reverence to the Lord!

Great sermon. Listen to it again. Appropriate for our times and the future.

We need to be forced to fight for the faith. There is so much preaching about the love that is not truly love. A house divided against itself cannot stand.

Its funny to me that I have to comment now ...YES walmart socks to last longer than 6 months. I'm a poor guy and often buy walmart stuff aka budget poor-guy stuff...why do I need to comment on this? Anyway...really great series...listened to all 4.

This homily made me realize that so often I have limited my efforts to giving money, perhaps because it is easier and doesn't require an investment of myself, my time, my energy, my patience.

"Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil" (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14). Thank you for reminding young men--and all of us--to focus on what is really most important.
