We hear “salvation is of the Jews”, but the foolish mind assumes this means “I better become a Jew to be worthy of salvation”. But no! In fact what does God say about the Israelites or “Jews”? See Deut. 9, namely vs. 5-6 “It is NOT because of your righteousness…you are a stiff-necked people“. God chose a rebellious people on purpose to show His mercy does not depend at all on heritage, race, culture, etc. Why? As Paul himself, a zealous Jew and Benjamite, confessed as Chief of sinners (1 Tim. 1:15), there is a sure hope of God’s unmerited grace for all sinners! God saves to THE UTTERMOST depths of sin by His grace and for His glory alone. Jesus professed “Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida!” (Matt. 11:21) which were Jewish! Tyre and Sidon were Phoenician! Christ condemned Jews, who would not repent even after miracles that would have converted pagans in Tyre/Sidon. If God can save a stiff-necked Jew who openly defied His Son, then dear Gentile what sin holds you back that God “can’t” forgive?

Looking for that Blessed Hope.

Brother Tom, you have hit the nail on the proverbial head. This message could even be subtitled “Against Christian Zionism” for the truths you have shared are what Paul calls the “mystery of the Gospel his for ages” Col. 1:26-27. That is that God is no racist, but from all eternity always intended to save a people from all cultures and groups, not simply the “Jews” or physical descendants of Abraham. Yet today, in America’s evangelical pulpits and even political stage, the tragic heresy of “Christian Zionism” is fiercely promoted, that the modern Jewish “Semites” remain “God’s chosen people” even in their hardened rebellions and hatred towards Jesus of Nazareth (read their Talmudic curses on Christ). And fair warning, for I have faced this battle for years, to expose Jewish hatred towards Christ and the western model of govt that inspired America’s founders is “anti-Semitic” or “hate speech”. Amen, God is Sovereign in election, and He chose a people apart from skin color, status or physical lineage.

Amen dear Brother Tom. And I would add to preach the Gospel is to become as Christ commissioned His Apostles in Matt. 4:19 “fishers of men”. Even as we see in this mortal world, can all men fish? Perhaps but not at equal skill or rates, and there are those who have zero interest in fishing. And as any seasoned fisherman can tell you, you don’t catch every fish, there are good days and bad days. Some fish fight harder than others, and there are some that seem to just glide right into your haul and into the net. Yet even the net is not our preaching. The net is God’s Spirit which embraces those for whom He was sent. For there are even those fish which escape the net, even fear or flee the net once it breaks the water’s surface. Let them be for they are not meant to be caught. No, our preaching is the cooperative blessed act of casting the net, invoking God’s Spirit, who alone can convict men’s hearts and draw them in with repentance and faith. All to the praise and honor of God’s glory, amen!

Seek ye the LORD while he may be found!! Listen! Heed! Search the Scriptures! Share this everywhere! What precious truth proclaimed! Who will hear and believe this report? Christ is All!

The Servant of Lord Christ Jesus presented who I am. Praise the Lord!

Reminded me of Charles Spurgeon’s famous quote about preachers foolishly supposing they had any right, let alone ability, to judge a sinner’s standing before God based on outward appearances: “If God would have painted a yellow stripe on the backs of the elect I would go around lifting shirts. But since He didn’t I must preach “whosoever will” and when “whatsoever” believes I know that he is one of the elect.” And Amen, this is so. Let everyone who thirsts and hungers for mercy, righteousness and life everlasting Come. But let it also be known that this divine and Sovereign Grace of which we speak and rejoice is not a license unto sin. For we may not be able to definitively say who is elect simply by appearance, but as a church we submit to the authority of God’s word, and must encourage one another against stumbling into sin. If that person refuses, then the church must discipline or cast them out, and if they still do not repent then it is manifest as 1 John 2:19 describes they were not regenerate.

Always blessed by your sermons brother Tom. God moved me by your words and, after considering the wicked servant with 1 talent, drew my heart to reflect on His words in Luke 9:23-26. Recall the servant in Matt. 25:25 specifically state he was “afraid”—fearful of failure, ridicule, commitment etc. Luke 9:26 tells us the fate of them who are similarly “ashamed” of Christ and His words in this sinful world. God then drew me to reflect on Hebrews 10:23-31. The wicked servant buried his Lord’s talent, so as to appease the world, his own selfish pursuits and not be bothered with or reminded of his proper duties, which as followers of Christ we should naturally pursue good works (not to merit salvation but because God’s Spirit of charity guides us to desire those things regularly and share them with others). Hebrews 10:24-26 is practically an outline of the fate of those who forsake God’s grace, appease sin, and left to fear judgment, like the lazy servant, who would even bury and “trample underfoot” God’s gifts.

Rejoice in the lord, by him , not by your works. Amen.

THE TRUTH OF AND BY THE WORD OF GOD SIMPLY DECLARED

The Manchild (Rev. 12:5) is the 1st fruit bride and body of Christ (Ephesians 5:30-32) and will be with Jesus when he opens the seals in Revelation chapter 6. (Luke 21:36) Rev 2:26 And HE THAT OVERCOMES, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations and he shall rule them with a ROD OF IRON; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father. The 10 virgins are not the Bride. They are bridesmaids and the 5 wise ones will be taken when Jesus and his bride come from the wedding (Luke 12:36) We see a picture of the Bride of Christ in Genesis 24. Abraham is a picture of God the Father. Isaac is a picture of God the Son (Jesus). Abraham's servant is a picture of the Holy Spirit. Rebekah is a picture of the bride of Christ. The Canaanites are a picture of the world. When Abraham says my country and kindred in Genesis 24:4, it refers to the church as a whole.
