Great Sermon!
Excellent message Prof. Gritters. Thank you indeed. In James chapter two we find the seemingly contradictory statement of; "faith, if it hath not works is dead" Here we seem to find a contradiction to Paul's teaching. Faith is dead? How can faith be a dead faith? Is faith not the gift of GOD? But the point here is that works done without the presence of faith in the sinner reveals that faith is not present in the efforts of the sinner. Also that works done by the true faithful Believer is completely different. No works of any mortal can justify before GOD. When the Holy Spirit's indwelling manifests the gift of GOD that is faith, then works are serving God alone.
Bless you Prof. Gritters.
