I pray for this outcome, but I cannot at all find this in the text. It seems they are going to be saved in the same way by mercy, Mercy alone. that Jew and Gentile together are one Israel in Christ. The remnant shows God’s word has not failed, the hardening serves to bring mercy to the nations, and in this way through one covenant gospel to both Jew and Gentile all Israel, all God’s chosen people, will be saved

Brian made a great point regarding apologetics. There is an importance and it is commanded to give a defense but since GOD is not in their thinking then the GOSPEL proclamation is what is of first most importance. I get often criticized as being too harsh because I emphasize the depravity of the rejector of JESUS but balance it with CHRIST, the only hope. And this is professing Christians that do the criticism.

Excellent point made how GOD has set up through believers HIS victory. Defeating the darkness through the death and resurrection of JESUS and establishing HIS mark (those born again) in this spiritually dark world.

Thanks for some great book recommendations. I ordered copies of the Postman and Adler books you were citing. I’m forwarding this message to our men’s group. We do need to do more than just “read” our Bibles. My prayer like Brian’s is that our lord would change my heart. I use his Psalm 119 meditations regularly.
