and I want to give you a thought
this morning that, has been among our really I would suggest reading Romans
chapter 8. I mean just what a great encouraging chapter in the Bible.
But I'm just going to draw one little thought out of one verse
and give you a thought that I've got this morning. So it's going
to be Romans chapter 8 verse number 31. The Bible says, what
shall we say then to these things? if god before us everything we need for the inner
man we find it here church and so I thank you for that and more
operate here for the next few minutes as we take a look at
the word of god that you speak the hearts were made we grant
you the liberty to work in our hearts as you see fit out of this verse where it says,
What shall we say then to these things? If God be for us, who
can be against us? And I want to take one little
article, really, is what it is. It is a word, but it's an article. And really, the message is going
to be a small word with a big impact. And it's one of the biggest
words that's a part of our vocabulary that really maybe we don't think
about, and it's the word, if. So I want to give you a few thoughts
this morning on that small word. Really, we don't understand,
I think a lot of the time, just how big of a word this is in
our lives. And in this particular verse,
the Bible says, who can be against us. And I don't know about what
you think about that this morning, but that's a big if. Amen. And I'm thankful that for those
of us who were saved, amen, been washed in the blood, saved by
His grace, amen, not of works lest any man should boast, I'm
thankful that this if has been answered and the fact that God
is in fact for us. I don't know about you, but I
thank God that in a world of tribulation and a world of uncertainty
and all these things going on, I mean, the more you look at
the world stage, The more thankful I am that God is for us. Amen. We just read yesterday how Iran's
launching missiles or launching drones at Israel now, and I'm
just here to tell you the world is heating up. If you can't see
that, I don't know what to tell you, but the world's heating
up. We're getting closer to the end, and I'm glad in the middle
of all that that God is for me. Let me tell you, young people,
God is for you. Amen. And I would like for you
to know also that I'm for you too. And hopefully your parents
are for you. But I'm glad above all that,
man, when it seems like nobody's for me, I'm glad that God is
for me. Amen. And I'm glad that I'm on
His side. But I'm just saying in this verse,
if God is for us, who can be against us? And the answer to
that is nobody. It goes on to say, what shall separate us from
the love of Christ? Shall tribulation or distress or peril? None of
these things shall separate us from the love of God. We're more
than conquerors in Christ Jesus. Why? Because God is for us. And
not only is He for us, but He's in us. But on the flip side of
that question, can you imagine the thought this morning if God
be not for us? Man, I'm just saying, the word
if there, the flip side to that question is a big if. Amen. I would hate to know that I had
God against me. And so, with that in mind, and
just as a springboard verse, I want to take a look in the
Word of God this morning on some places where this Word plays
a big role in our lives. But let me say first of all,
just to do with this little word, if, a few characteristics about
this word. The first thing that I would
like to say about the word if is it's a conditional word. It's
a conditional word. It lays forth a condition to
be adhered to and abided by. Amen. The word if. You know,
we used to grow up, or we used to grow up, when we were growing
up, you know, I remember one particular time, Brother Jeffrey's
here this morning, my brother, what we did one time, I don't
know what boys, there's a reason that women live longer than men.
I know y'all seen all those pictures, you know. There's a picture of
a woman with her daughter and they're taking a picture. Y'all
seen that in the oceans in the background? And down in the bottom
corner in a very small picture, you see a dad loading a little
boy into the end of a cannon. Have y'all seen that picture?
And it says, no wonder women live longer than men. Amen. Anyways, if y'all haven't seen
that, it ain't too funny. But I remember years ago, man, we
took all the parts off the bottom of a skateboard and we went in
the woods behind our house, man, and there was a steep hill down
to the creek. The landing spot was a creek. So, we didn't think
about this is what I'm trying to say. But we just thought it
would sound fun if we took all the wheels and all that stuff
off and we're going to snowboard down to the bottom. Now, what's
going to happen when we get there, we have no idea. But when it
came to stuff like that, you know, you remember this growing
up, we'd stand there and say, well, if you do it, I'll do it.
And the first volunteer would step up, and I remember Jeffrey
took off, man, and it ended up bad, as you might imagine. But
you know what? After he did it, we did it too.
Because if you'll do it, I'll do it. I'm just saying it places
a condition upon your life if you live according to this word,
if. Amen? When it comes to the marriage that you're in this
morning, do you realize that there are conditions in your
marriage? Amen. If you do them, if you keep up
this vow that you've made. Now in mine and Anna's case,
the only vow that I made to her is to be her help me. I don't
know what Brother Charlie had going on that day, but he lost
the vows, and so the only thing I vowed to do was to be her help
me. And so now the only, I mean, she remembers that. Because not within 20 minutes
of us being up on a Saturday, she's looking for something for
me to do. And if I ever buck that, she says, just remember
you vowed to be my helpmate. Amen. That's a condition placed
upon our marriage. And Lord knows I don't even remember
what she vowed to me, so I can't use that against her. She don't
know either. Amen. But you know, I'm just saying
this word places a condition upon your life. Your life is
lived according to conditions. You know, if you show up to work,
you'll get paid. And it's an amazing thing. You
go to work, you get paid. Why? Because that's the condition.
Amen. I'll say this about the word
if also. It's a convicting word. And listen, I don't suggest living
in this place, but you know, I look back on my life sometimes
When it comes to a lot of things, when it comes to my physical,
carnal life, amen, all that sort of thing, I look back on my life.
But also when it comes to family, when it comes to relationships,
and when it comes to my walk and my service for God, I look
back on my life and sometimes I say, man, if I had just done
that, Y'all ever do that? If you look back and say, if
I had just made this decision earlier, if I had made the decision
to give my life to God at an even earlier age, or if I had
done this, there's no telling what life may have turned out
to be. And I'm telling you what that word brings a lot of the
time is it brings conviction. Man, I think about, I have a
young man stuck in my mind right now, I don't know his name, but
I'm telling you, I remember one day, as clear as almost, it was
almost an audible voice, I walked past this guy sitting on a curb
somewhere, over towards the house, and the Lord laid on my heart,
you need to go talk to him about me, give him the gospel, and
you know what I did? I went out, I got nervous, and
I didn't do it. And you know when I look back
on that now, I say, man, what if, What if I had just stopped
and given him a... He may have gotten saved right
there on the spot. Maybe he wouldn't have. I'm just
saying that this word brings conviction. Amen. Now let me say this. It often
brings no victory to live your life in the what ifs. Because
there's a million things that might have happened or might
happen, might come to pass. But I'm just saying sometimes
it brings conviction. Amen. Let me say this also, not only
is it conditional, and it is a convicting word, but it's also
a consequential word. Amen. And this is something I
think that a lot of people need to grasp, and a lot of Christians
need to grasp, is the consequences of our choices. Amen. You know there are consequences
for choices. If the speed limit sign says
55, And you're going 75. There's a consequence to pay
for that. I lose most people with that.
Two speeding tickets within one hour will cure you from speeding. And I don't know what it is about
my life, but every time I get involved in something like that,
Brother Charlie's with me. I have no idea. And if you ever want a negotiator
for a speeding ticket, do not, do not, do not let it be Brother
Charlie. He will make the ticket worse.
Amen. And I'll spare you all this.
Y'all can get with me. I'll tell you the whole story to that after
church. But I'm just saying that day in my life, the speed limit
was 45 and I was going 60 and I got pulled over and I paid
$300 later. I mean, I'm just saying that
there are consequences associated with actions that we make or
decisions that we make and actions that we take. And this applies
to your walk with God. I mean, there's nothing we can
do that will separate us from His love. Aren't you glad for
that? Amen. There is nothing I can do since
I have been saved, there's nothing I can do that will ever change
the fact that I am His child and the fact that He will always
love me. But there are things that I can
do as His child that will affect my fellowship with Him. And we won't go through all the
things that that might be, but he said, if we walk in the light
as he is in the light. Notice that word, if. We have
fellowship one with another. I'm just saying it's a consequential
word. And this is just my introduction
this morning, but let me say this last of all to do with the
introduction. It's a word that's associated with choice. A verse we, a lot of people have
hung in their houses, and that's a very famously quoted verse,
is Joshua 24 15, where the Bible says, and if it seem evil unto
you, to serve the Lord. And then at the end of the verse,
whether the God you served, the God of the Amorites, and whose
land you dwell, the God of your fathers, and at the end of that
verse it says, choose you this day. who ye will serve. And I'll tell you, since Genesis
chapter 1 all the way till now, what God always offers is He
offers a choice. Young people, if you want to
serve God, you can. And adults alike, if you want
to walk with the Lord, you can. You have that choice. Don't let
the world tell you how uncool it is to be a Christian and to
stand for God because you have the choice to live for Him. And
I'm telling you, the consequence and the result of living for
God is a life of joy and peace and happiness. Not a bed of roses,
but joy and peace, fellowship with God. And that's a choice
that you have. if you'll do it so. With that
in mind I want to look at a few things this morning. And I'll
try to be aware of the time but I want to take a look at some
big ifs. in every life here some big U.S. So we're turning our
bibles a little bit so just get your thumb ready to turn a man
and we're gonna look at a few verses the first one I want you
to turn to the second chronicles chapter number seven I'm pretty
sure most of us can probably quote this verse but I still
wanna take a look at it we're gonna talk about the first if
this morning that impacts all of our lives second chronicles
chapter number seven verse number 14. And what we're
going to do is we're going to spiritually apply this verse
here. Amen. But this is a big if. 2 Chronicles 7, verse number
14, the Bible says this, if my people, which are called by my
name, shall humble themselves and pray and seek my face and
turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven
and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. And so
when it comes to the ifs of our life, the first if that I would
like to draw out of this verse is the if of seeing God work.
The if of seeing God work. Can I ask you this morning, you
want to see God work? Now, I'm not talking about, you
know, sometimes what we get caught up in is emotionalism. I mean,
I'm all for shouting, I'm all for that, but sometimes all that
is is just emotionalism. I mean, if you shout, I want
it to be the Lord making you shout. But the truth is this morning,
when it comes to our lives and it comes to our church, I pray
and I believe with all my heart for everybody here that we have
a concerted, unified desire to see God work. Amen. I want to see God move. I want
to see God answer prayer. I want to see God save our kids
as Colton prayed a minute ago. Amen. I want to see God change
lives. I want to see God put marriages
back together. Amen. I want to see God build
our church for His honor and glory. I mean, we just want to
see God do something. Amen. I'm tired of seeing what
man can do. I want to see what God can do. How do you do that?
Well, we get a formula laid out here. If my people, he said,
if you want to hear from heaven, if you want me to hear your prayer
and forgive your sin, in other words, if you want to see me
move, the first step is if you do these things, and the first
is humble yourself. And I believe it laid out maybe
the hardest one for us to do, and that is to humble ourselves.
Amen. But the most Christlike thing
you can do is humble yourself. You want to see God work? If
you'll do these things, He said, I'll hear from heaven, I'll forgive
your sins, I'll heal your land if you will humble yourself. And it's sad to say that we see
fewer and fewer and fewer church people who are willing to take
this first step in seeing God move, and that is the step of
humbling themselves. Especially when it comes to our
relationships with each other. You know the hardest time to
humble yourself is when you're right. Amen. I won't give any more marital
examples. Amen. But there's been times
I'm sitting there saying, this ain't working. But I'm right.
But we ain't getting nowhere. Amen. And I realize in the middle
of that thing, look, Jordan, let's just humble you. Be the
helpmate you're vowed to be. Humble yourself and you'll see
things get better. And let me just tell you when
it comes to most things we get in such a wad over, it don't matter.
Most things I hear people being mad about don't amount to a hill
of beans when it comes to eternity. So what do you do in those situations?
Humble yourself. Take the low road. Amen. If we
humble ourselves. And then he said, Seek my face.
Amen. Those that seek me early shall
find me. Amen. And turn from their wicked
ways. Confess it. Get over your sin.
Start living for God. And he says, If you will do these
things, you will see me do the things that you want to see me
do. Humble yourself. Seek my face. Turn from your
wicked ways. Amen. I'll heal your land. I'll
work in your family. But we need to understand that
there are conditions placed upon our lives and there's consequences
for choices that we make. There are marriages in turmoil
this morning because neither husband nor wife will humble
themselves. There are churches who are literally
split in two because of this step right here, humbling yourself. of the year for seeing a movement
also see a move those who want to see a work and I thank God
for working in our church I thank God for them and listen and about
nine about numbers and about numbers and god knows I just
wanna see god was not telling you see god build families and
build homes and I love seeing the change take
place in the life of somebody who God is working on. I want
to see God work. Amen. Don't you want to see God
work? Well, he said, if my people, if you'll do these things, there's
a spiritual promise here that he will hear our prayers and
he will work in our lives. Amen. Let's look at the next
one. Look at John chapter 12. john chapter number 12 am in all of
this is a healthy this morning but look at this one, John chapter
12, verse number 32, the Bible says, and I, this is Christ speaking
of himself here, and I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will
draw all men unto me. Now we know this is a reference
to the cross when he was raised from the earth on that torture
rack. Amen. He said he would draw all men
unto himself. Matthew chapter 11, he says, Come unto me, all
you that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you, learn of me, for I am meek and lowly
in spirit. Amen. But I'm telling you what this
if is. It's the if of showing Jesus to the world. The if of
showing Jesus to the world. That's a big if in your life.
We see another promise here. He said, if I be lifted up from
the earth, we'll draw all men unto myself. Amen, and I'll tell
you what most of the problem is, man, we like, us Christians,
man, we like to just harp on the wickedness of the world and
all the things going on, amen. Let me tell you something about
the world. They're doing exactly what they're supposed to do.
Amen, I don't expect anything else from the world. But what's
our job? Part of the reason the world
is the way it is, is because the church has dropped the ball
when it comes to showing Jesus to the world. And I'm here to
tell you this morning, if we don't show Jesus, who will? If
we don't lift Him up, who will? If we don't tell Him, who will?
And the answer to that question is this, nobody will. Now listen,
I know this world, when they stand before God, the Bible says
that they'll be without excuse. I understand all that, but I'm
telling you, how is your lost family going to know? How are
your co-workers going to know if you don't show them Jesus? Show them Jesus. Amen. If you work with the public,
man, y'all show them Jesus. Man, when they show up, show
them Jesus. Amen. My wife works in a public school
and I'm telling you what those little kids need on a 99% basis. They need somebody to show them
Jesus because in their homes a lot of the time, He is not
being shown. Now let me break this up a little
bit when it comes to showing Jesus to the world. This is more
than just telling them about Jesus. And I believe in telling them.
But we're talking about walking the walk, not just talking the
talk. Let me ask you this. If you never
said anything about Christ, what could the world learn from you
about Him? So what do you mean? If the world
looked at the way you conducted yourself and lived your life
and never spoke five words to you, would they know anything
about Jesus? Are y'all with me this morning,
amen? Like a calf staring at a new gate, amen? Amen, what do the people who
work around you every day know about Jesus because of the way
you live your life? a member of the gym floor here he mentioned
the church years ago of the head of a banner across the back of
their church and maybe we'll do this one day, but How do you make Jesus look good?
This world doesn't need to hear Christians complaining about
everything. That ain't making, that ain't
showing Jesus to nobody. Ah, well, I tell you, President,
man, stop complaining, show them Jesus. Amen. The if, man, what are you
doing with this one right here, showing Jesus to the world? Let's
look at a couple more. Look at Luke chapter number 9.
Luke chapter number 9. I'm just saying this word plays
a big role in our lives. Amen. And when I think about these
things, the one that God convicted me about the most when it comes
to these things is what I talked about a minute ago. It's a conditional
word, but it's a consequential word. All these things, we're
faced with the choice of doing or not. Amen? You can do it, or you can
not do it. You can see God work, or you
can not see God work. You can show the world Jesus,
or you can not show them Jesus. It's up to you, it's up to me.
I hope that drives home in your heart this morning, amen? Luke
chapter number nine, look at verse number 23. This is a hard
one right here. Luke chapter nine, verse number
23. The Bible says, and he said to them all, If any man will
come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and
follow me. For whosoever will save his life
shall lose it, but whosoever will lose his life for my sake,
the same shall save it." The next thing that I see is the
if of sacrifice. Christ looked at these disciples
and he said, listen, if any man will, and by the way, those two
words, any man includes all of us here, all of us who are saved,
he said, if you will, deny yourself. A lot of us are off the boat
there. And take up his cross and follow me. He said, if you'll make the sacrifice. Amen, if you'll take up your
cross. And let me just say this. This
is the if of sacrifice, but it's also the if of service. And I know this is the truth
about all of us. We're all serving something.
Amen. We're all serving somebody. For
some people it's their own flesh. For some people it's their job,
whatever it is. But can I tell you that there is no better life
than serving Jesus Christ. There is no other life. I mean,
you may find happiness somewhere for some while, amen, doing something
you enjoy. I do the same thing, man. I got
those things myself. I like to deer hunt. I like to
play golf. Both of them make me mad half the time, amen. But
you know what? I'll enjoy that thing for a little
while, and then it goes away. But let me tell you, the joy
of sacrificing and the joy of serving Jesus, that joy never
goes away. Can I tell you that the joy of
serving and the joy of being a sacrifice for Him, that joy
remains, amen, even through the hard times and even in the storms.
The joy! What joy of serving, amen! What joy of living for God! If you will. If you will, God's
not gonna make you do anything. Amen. I love seeing young people
make this choice. I love seeing young people realize,
and listen, I know they may not know everything. None of us do. Amen. Man, when these young guys,
Colton, man, I love him saying God's called him to preach, man.
Bryson. Amen. I don't know what God'll
end up doing with them, but I'll tell you this, man, you'll never
make a better choice. You'll never make a better choice.
And plus, most of the time when these young boys get up and preach,
they do a better job than most men I know. They do a better
job than me. Bryson got up and preached that
message about Joe, man, and I'm sitting here. Will you repeat
that? And I'm telling you, hard times
will come because of serving God. But there'll never be anything
that'll bring you more joy. If you'll do it. All right. Well, we got a couple
more here. Hey, man, I hope y'all are getting
some help from this this morning. You see, when it comes to the
point of this message is when it comes to our Christian life,
thank God that God's all-powerful. Thank God He can do anything
He wants to do. But I'll tell you, when it comes to a lot of
the things you want to see God do and see in your life, He leads
it up to you. Amen? We're not predestinated
to anything other than to be conformed to the image of His
dear Son. We're not Calvinist He leaves it up to you. John 14, we'll get our next one.
John 14, if you will, if you will, if you will, amen. Man, this is a tough one right
here. John chapter 14, verse number 15. This is a big one. John chapter 14, verse number
15, the Bible says, if ye love me, keep my commands. The if that we see here is the
if of our sincerity. Amen. And growing up, I'm telling
you, being in church my whole life, you learn about people.
And I'll tell you, just from seeing people in my whole life
of being in church, I'll tell you what I've seen. I've seen
people keep the commandments. Not all of them, but for the
most part, man, I've seen people, man, they're trying to do right.
I mean, they're trying to bring it all in, and then they find
out they can't. I mean, we're all flesh. And so
I've seen young people grow up and all they know to try to do
is keep the commandments, keep the commandments, keep the commandments,
keep the commandments, keep the commandments. But there's a key part of their
life missing. If you love me, if you love me,
if you love me, And I'll tell you the only way
you will be sincere, and listen, I'm not talking about keeping
the commandments for salvation. This is spiritually applied to living
for God, living right, that sort of thing. I'm telling you the
only way you'll ever be sincere in those things is not by doing
what the preacher said, not doing what your mom, I mean, listen,
hold on kids, do what your mom and dad say. Lord, Brother Jordan
said I didn't have to do what you say. Amen. Y'all tune that part out. But I am saying this, I am saying
that little Christian kids grow up. Amen? They grow up and they become
adults. And they've kept the commandments
all their life. But I'll tell you what breaks my heart is to
see people who do that and they get to a place and they realize
that they've never fallen in love with Jesus Christ. Listen, I don't serve God like
I should. None of it. I mean, I mean, listen, that's
just the case. We all fall short. But I'll tell you this. I love
him. I'll tell you what draws me back
to want to live right as I love him. And maybe soon, I don't know.
I'm always thinking, well, what are we going to do next? One
of the things that the Lord has laid on my heart is teaching
on the doctrine of biblical separation. Amen. Because God has called
us to be separate from the world. That's still in the Bible. But I think a lot of the time
we get the wrong idea of what that means. You see, not only are we to be
separated from the world, but we're to be separated unto God.
And we get the first part right. We're separated from the world.
There's all these things we're not doing that they're doing, but
we never separate ourselves unto God. And so then we're just keeping
the commandments without loving Him. And I'll tell you what that
brings about. It brings about bitterness towards
Christianity and church and God Himself. If you don't mix it
in with loving God... Amen? Because I love Him, it
doesn't grieve me to try to live a life different and separated
from this world. Because I love Him. You want to be sincere? Love God. But I'll tell you this, if you
do love Him, there will be fruit of it. Amen. I don't have time to delve off
into that. But let me just say this, if you love Him, keep his
commandments sincerity , will get two more this morning and
I really wonder of these two home look at first on one we
all know this first first john chapter one We would just go all the way
to church tonight. Y'all don't wanna do that, do you? No, you don't, okay. The if of our sincerity. Look
at 1 John 1, verse number nine. We probably could all quote this
verse. The Bible says, if we confess
our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and
to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. And here what we see in this
verse is the if of our sins. I'll go back and say when it
comes to God's part, I'm glad that He's faithful and He's just.
And He forgives our sins and He cleanses us from all unrighteousness.
And as far as eternity is concerned, amen, those sins are taken away.
When He sees me, He sees the blood of the Lamb. He sees me
as worthy, not as I am. But in the context of 1 John
1, we're talking about walking in the light. We're talking about
being in fellowship with God. And I'll tell you what sins will
do. Sins will interrupt your fellowship with God. But if, if we confess our sins,
He is faithful and just. So you know what you do? You
hit your knees and say, Lord, forgive me. Forgive me for being
a liar. Forgive me for this. Call out
the sin. Confess it to God. Reveal what's
in your heart. Search me, O Lord. Try my heart.
See if there be any wicked way in me. And if we confess those
things, He's faithful and He's just to forgive us our sins.
And in a moment, you can be restored in the fellowship with God. we
confess our sins. And I believe there's a lot of
people in church today, they won't serve God, they won't shout,
they won't lift their hands, they won't say amen, not that
it's all about that, but I'm just saying, especially, somebody
said this at the men's meeting last week, he said, I believe
the reason people are so quiet in church is because they're
dealing with a load of unconfessed sins that they feel guilty over. and I'm telling you that you'll
build and build and build the U.S. remains in five seconds
and the blood can be applied , forgive you if we confess our
sins if we can pass He said, I was in church one
time, and you'd have to know how Brother Earl preached, he
said, and the preacher asked, he said, how would you like if
we rolled down the projector screen here and we displayed
every sin that you committed this week for the whole church
to see? And Brother Earl said, if you give me about five seconds,
you can put them all up there. He said, if I get in the fix,
I can repent in a hurry. Amen. But you know what? That's
the beauty of the blood and that's the beauty of God's forgiveness.
Amen. When you hit your knees and you
confess that thing, God will look at you and say, what sins
are you talking about? I don't remember them anymore. If we confess. Amen. Y'all okay this morning? I mean, I get, we all get it,
I get sin in my heart, and I won't do nothing about it. And I'll
get down and try to pray for other people, and the Lord will
speak up and say, oh, hold up now, you need to deal with this
first. That's what the Holy Spirit does,
he sent to the world to convict. And comfort, I understand all
that. But man, you want freedom when it comes to serving God,
freedom when it comes to prayer. Confess those sins. Turn from your wicked ways. Amen. I'm glad God gave us a
way to deal with our sins on the spot. I don't have to wait
for anybody to kill a goat or a lamb, man. I can do it right
now. He is our sin offering. What a blessing. Last, last,
last, and I want you to get this one. Man, can't you see how big of
an impact this little word has? The consequences that are associated
with it, the conditions, the choice. Mark chapter 8, verse number
36. The Bible says, for what shall
it profit a man if he shall gain the whole world and lose his
own soul. And I'll tell you, this is the
biggest if that's in the balance for all of you today. And it
is the if of your soul. Amen. And I'll tell you what
God cares about more than anything else in this world. He cares
about your soul. Amen, I'm glad, man, that day
as a 13-year-old boy, I think about it from time to time. Man,
I believed on the Lord Jesus Christ. He kept His promise.
He saved me. And I'm telling you in that moment,
Jesus Christ saved my soul. Amen, aren't you thankful? I'm
signed, sealed, delivered until the day of redemption, amen.
I'm kept by the Holy Spirit of God. I know that I have eternal
life. And the biggest if that's in
the balance in this world today is the if of men's souls. Can I tell you this this morning?
You can be in church your whole life and lose your soul. Amen. You can go on visitation.
You can sing in the choir. You can do all the things and
lose your soul. Amen. I'll tell you where God saved
me. God saved me off the end of a church pew. Raised in church
my whole life, knew the answers, but my soul was lost. Amen. What about your soul? It asks a question here, what
shall it profit a man if he shall gain the whole world and lose
his own soul? The answer to that is it won't
profit him anything. There's a scriptural example of this
in Luke chapter 16. The Bible says, and in hell the rich man
lifted up his eyes. You know what he did? He gained
the whole world. The Bible says he was in torment
in those flames. And he lifted up his eyes and
he saw Lazarus and he pleaded with God. He said, Lord, if Lazarus
could just dip the tip of his finger and cool my tongue. say was that an illustration
of this in illustration somebody gain the whole world and not been woke up in hell payment there's a world out there
and again the whole world but one day you can have everything
this world has to offer if you die without Jesus Christ But it don't have to be that
way. That if thou shalt confess with
thy mouth the Lord Jesus. Notice that if there. And shall
believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead,
thou shalt be saved. There's a big if. Amen. If's a consequential word,
it's a conditional word, it's a convicting word. Amen. How are you doing in these areas
in your life this morning? The if of sincerity, the if of
service and sacrifice. If we'll do it. How about the
if of your sin? Amen. I got good instruction
as a young boy. Keep short accounts with God.
Don't let it grow. Confess it, forsake it, repent
of it, turn from it, get back to Him. Amen. Let's pray this morning. I wanna thank you for your mercy
and your grace. And Lord, I pray, above all things, Lord, if there's
somebody here this morning who's never come to know you as their
personal Lord and Savior, Lord, that you would convict them and
show them their need for the Lord Jesus. Lord, that they'd
come to know you as their personal Lord and Savior. Those of us
who are saved, Lord, maybe we take this little thought, maybe
run it through the word of God. Maybe see areas that we need
to get right with you about. Our love, our sincerity, our
service, Lord, and allow You to work in our lives. And we
thank You, God, for Your goodness to us. And even so, come, Lord
Jesus, in Your precious name, I pray these things. Amen.
