Hey, good morning again, this
is pastor mark and I hadn't really thought about a name for the
morning devotion other than you know, just daily devotional But
I was thinking just a second ago. Maybe it's good morning
with mark or something like that let me encourage you if you follow
it on a podcast to rate review and Subscribe to the podcast
there. It's on you can find it on sermon
audio or your pod catcher. So I anyway to do that and and
you know i kind of like to know who's watching just to see if
anyone is watching i know that first podcast got over 100 views
and the last few i haven't seen as many so i don't really know
who's watching and i know that it's not the a great broadcast
or great quality or anything. But, um, if you are watching
and you'd like for me to continue, kind of let me know. I know one
in particular is watching, but, uh, anyway, we, we are enjoying
this. It's, it's keeping me on my toes.
Um, but we're glad to be able to come to you and share with
something, use something in the morning, uh, to get your day
started off right. And as we go through this and
continue with this daily devotion podcast, there will be days when. There's not a lot of content,
maybe other than just to read some scripture and share some
thoughts. And, um, so for the next few days, I think I'm going
to just read Psalm 145 and, and share some, uh, thoughts with
you from that today. I'm going to read verses one
through four of Psalm 145. And really that's what a devotional
is about is about reading us a few scriptures. um, making
a few comments and then having a word of prayer just to get
our day focused on the Lord. And so, uh, that's what we're
going to do. Also, I'm thinking about time.
I've been 11 to 13 minutes and that might be a little bit long.
If you think it's a little bit long, you know, give me a comment
on Facebook or Twitter, or let me know what you think about
the timing. If it is too short, too long,
just about right. So just, just let me know. Since
you are listening every day, um, I, you know, I just let me
know about the timing. Okay. I know most podcasts are
about 20 minutes, but those are once a week podcast. I know someone
who does a daily podcast. He was about six or seven minutes.
So just kind of let me know what you think about that. So one
45 David saw my praise. I will extol thee my God, O King,
and I will bless thy name forever and ever. Every day while I bless
thee and I will praise thy name forever and ever. Great is the
Lord, and greatly to be praised, and his greatness is unsearchable.
One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare
thy mighty acts. Okay, so this says this is the
psalmist praise, David's psalm of praise. So he is praising
God, and this morning I want you to think about this. There
are many reasons why we should praise God. David is saying that
I'm extolling or lifting God up And he's lifting him high
because God is his king And every day I will bless thee and praise
thy name. So Think of this today as you
begin your day Think about all the reasons that you have to
praise God. Maybe maybe it's just that he
saved you or maybe that he has revealed to you that he is God
or Maybe you want to thank him for some special blessing you
received in your family or I don't know. But if you think about
this, if you would begin your day every day, blessing God.
Begin your day. Today, why am I going to bless
God? What do I have? What attribute of God or what
is there about God that I can bless Him? If you can bless God
and praise His name every day, then you'll begin your day thinking
positive thoughts and you'll begin thinking about God and
not thinking about your circumstances or maybe your difficulties that
you're facing in life. So begin your day today thinking
about God and praising God and blessing his name. You see, when
we stop to consider God and the greatness of God, and who God
is, we will understand that he is exactly that. He is great. It tells us here in verse three
that his greatness is unsearchable. And we can think about some ways
that we could describe the greatness of God. If we just thought of,
there are three what are called omni-attributes, omnipresence,
omniscience and omnipotent and maybe you don't know what those
are. So I'll take just a smidgen about a time amount of time to
explain those this morning, but he is omnipotent, which means
the omni means all. So he is all powerful. That means there's nothing too
hard for God. There's nothing that he can't
accomplish. That he has the power to do anything. He spoke this
world into existence Ex Nilo from nothing That's the way he
built this world. He created this world from nothing
That's actually what creation means out of nothing. He created
this world So if he has the power to create this world out of nothing,
then he has all power so you can praise God for his greatness
because he is all-powerful his omniscient means he knows all
things that means a lot of things he knows all things that has
happened he knows all things that will happen he knows our
thoughts before we think them he knows what's in the deepest
uh recesses of our heart so that can be good or that can be bad
there's sometimes that i'm glad that god knows what's on the
deepest recesses of my heart because sometimes when i'm not
Dude, I don't, I'm not perfect. There's times that, that God
really knows my motives and my desires, even though I don't
always do things the right way. So he's omniscient and he's omnipresent. He's in all places at all times.
So, um, we can never get away from God. Um, that means that
there's never a time that we're going to be out of his presence,
which means that, um, no matter where, well, I'll just tell you
this. When my daughter went to Ecuador a couple of years ago
now, You know, I was like, Lord, I, I can't be with her in Ecuador,
but you know what? I know you're there. And as she
now lives in Washington, DC, well, Arlington, Virginia and
works in Washington, DC, you know, center up there by herself. Um, you know, Lord, I can't be
there to protect her, but I know you're there and, uh, I know
that you can. So knowing that God, God is omniscient,
he's great. Um, and so, uh, We think about
this and we know that God is the only one that has these attributes.
And so we know that because of that, that he is great. Then
we can think about all the implications of these three attributes. And of course he has many more
attributes, but you know, we'll get into that maybe at a later
time. But what we understand is that
he is great. Also his greatness is unsearchable.
If we would try to take with our finite minds and explain
the greatness of God, we can never completely do it. But also
I think that means that if we think we have the greatness of
God figured out, we really don't. There's more to God than what
we realize. He is beyond our explanation
for our finite minds. And so we can't explain all there
is to know about God. So he is unsearchable. Also,
verse number four says, it says, one generation shall praise thy
works to another and shall declare thy mighty acts. So one generation
is to explain the works of God to the next generation. So today,
tell others about the greatness of God. Tell of his works. Let
others know of God's greatness. Also, one generation is to tell
the next generation. That means you're to let your
children know about the greatness of God. So today, understand
the greatness of God, the blessings he gives, share that greatness
with others through praising God, and make sure that you let
that nation, or that next generation, meaning your children, make sure
you let them know about the greatness of God too. And this is one of
the reasons we want to learn more about God, so we have more
reasons to share the greatness of God with our loved ones. So
today, Lord, we come to you in prayer and we pray that you will
help us to see your hand in our lives. Help us to see your greatness. Help us to think of all the reasons
that we have to praise you. Open our eyes to see your wondrous
works. Fill our hearts so we will bless you today and forever. Focus our hearts today on you
and your greatness and your goodness to us and help us to recognize
your blessings to us. So we understand what a blessing
it is to be your child. Bless your people today, we pray.
In the name of your son, Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen. Have a
good day today. Goodbye.
