Well, I want to talk a little
bit this afternoon about the body, and give us some truth
from God's Word. We'll see if we can piece this
together, if it makes sense to you. But some thoughts I think
that are worth considering concerning our body. Genesis chapter 1, we know day
1, light was created. Day 2, the firmament, which is
called heaven. Day 3, you had land and vegetation
created. Day 4, you had the sun, the moon,
and the stars. So let's look at Genesis 1 verse
20. Genesis 1 chapter number 20,
let's see what happens on the 5th day. Day 5, Genesis 1 verse
20, and God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving
creature that hath life. and fowl that may fly above the
earth and the open firmament of heaven. And God created great
whales and every living creature that moveth, watch it again,
which the waters brought forth abundantly." That's twice. You
see that in verse 20, the waters bring forth. Verse number 21,
the waters brought forth abundantly after their kind and every winged
fowl after his kind God saw that it was good. Where did those
fish come forth from? Waters. Same thing in the next
verse. The fowls and the fish. Fowls of the air and the fish
of the sea. They all came forth abundantly
from the waters. From the waters. Keep that in
your mind. Because then day 6, what you
had is land, animals, and man. And you ever think about the
importance of water in life? I mean, you can't have fish in
the sea without water. You can't have the birds in the
air, they're not going to live without water. You can't have
land animals, and you can't have man living without water. Our
body is made of 70% what? Water! I think that's right.
Is that right? It's a lot of water. We need
water to live. Now, go to Genesis 2. Look at
verse 10. Watch what it says in Genesis
2.10. They're in the garden, and the
tree of life is in the midst of the garden. And the Bible
says in verse 10, "...and a river went out of Eden to water the
garden." And from thence it was parted and became into four heads. And then it goes on to describe
where this water flows and the different areas that it adds
water to. But man, at this point, is living
in perfect harmony with God. Man is in a state of innocence.
Man hasn't sinned. And water is bringing forth life. And water is being provided for
everything by God. That's a blessing. You know what's going to happen
during the Millennial Kingdom when Christ sits on His throne? Water
is going to flow out from that throne. And you know what the
state of the earth is going to be like? It's going to be like
when Adam and Eve first were in the garden. And that is, peace
and harmony will have been restored on earth. Adam and Eve didn't
sin, and water is where the life is coming from. Water is representative
of, look, it brought forth these animals. You're going to have
the Millennial Kingdom, that throne. All that water is going
to be flowing from the throne on which the Lord Jesus Christ
sits. It's going to be a beautiful
thing. Look at Revelation 22. I'll show
you something else. All the way in the back. Last
chapter of the Bible. Look at the first verse in Revelation
22. This is going to be after the
new heavens and after the new earth are created. Watch what's
going to flow. Verse one of Revelation 22, and
he showed me a pure river of water of life. It's water of
life, clear as crystal proceeding out of the throne of God and
of the lamb in the midst of the street of it on either side of
the river. Was there the tree of life which bear 12 manner
of fruits and yielded fruit every month? Leaves of the tree were
for the healing of the nations and there shall be no more curse.
Before Adam and Eve sinned, the ground wasn't cursed. Watch it
says, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it and
his servants shall serve him. So you have even after the new
heavens and the new earth, you're going to have water flowing.
The principle or what's described in the Bible is when man and
God are in harmony, water is flowing. Water is flowing very
freely. Hold that thought and go to John
7 concerning water. John 7, verse 37. John 7, verse 37. In the last days, that great
day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man
thirst, let him come unto Me and drink. He that believeth on Me, as the
Scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living
water. Do you have peace between God
Well, if you've trusted Christ, you have peace with God through
the Lord Jesus Christ. That's what Jesus is speaking
about. Are you thirsty? Come have the living water. If
you have flowing water, if you have that living water, guess
what you have? You have peace between God. That flowing water
is what we're talking about. Now, go back to Genesis 2. Look
at verse 21. And the Lord God caused a deep
sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept. And he took one of
his ribs and closed up the flesh instead thereof. And the rib
which the Lord God had taken from man made he a woman and
brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This is now bone
of my bones and flesh of my flesh. She shall be called woman. because
she was taken out of man." There's a lot of good humor people
get out of that verse. Well, you can say, what's a woman? It's a man with a womb. I've
heard people say that. That's what a woman has, a womb.
A womb man. Maybe I don't work. You heard
the one before. He said, Why was she called woman? You've
probably heard this one before. Because when God made her, Adam
was like, whoa, man. You heard that one? But you have
woman. And Adam says concerning the
woman. Now, this is what I just said
isn't in the Bible. But what I'm going to say now, it is in
the Bible. So we get back on track. The jokes aren't humorous,
but but this serious thing here. Adam says this is bone of my
bones and flesh of my flesh. This we're talking about a physical
body right now, right? We all understand that. We're
also talking about physical bodies that don't have any sin in them. They haven't fall. The fall hasn't
occurred yet. So. What don't we have mention of?
Flesh, bone, There's no mention of blood. Now, why is that? I can't be 100% sure, but this
is what I think is why. Nonetheless, I think we can agree
that blood is not mentioned. There is no blood that's mentioned
in conjunction with these scriptures. There's no blood of my blood.
Look at Adam here in verse number 20. Just a few things here. Look at verse 20. And Adam gave
names to all the cattle. Look at verse 21. And the Lord
God calls the deep sleep to fall upon Adam. And then verse 23,
we see what Adam said. We know that this is the first
Adam. This is the physical Adam, the
first Adam. And in verse number 24, it says
at the end, therefore shall man leave his father and mother,
and his wife, and they shall be one flesh. They're not called
one blood. Blood doesn't show up anywhere.
God could have very well just inserted the blood there. Hey,
they shall be called one blood. But he doesn't. He says they
shall be called One flesh. There's no blood mentioned. How do you and I stay alive?
We've got to have blood flowing through our veins. That's the
first Adam. Let's look at the last Adam.
Let's look at the last Adam in Luke 24. Luke 24. When we read in Genesis 2, we
all understand that that is a point in time where Adam and Eve had
bodies that didn't have sin in their body. Everybody see that?
They didn't fall yet. Look at verse 36 in Luke 24. Alright, I trust everybody is
there. Look at verse 36. Now, this is Jesus Christ in
His resurrected body. And it says, "...and as they
spake, Jesus Himself stood in the midst of them and saith unto
them, Peace be unto you." I think that's very telling,
Jesus saying peace. But they were terrified and frightened,
and supposed that they had seen a spirit. And he said unto them,
Why are ye troubled, and why do your thoughts arise in your
hearts? Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself. It's flesh right there. Handle
me, and see, for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see
me. So they're seeing Jesus. He has
a resurrected body. And what's mentioned, he says,
is, look, I've got flesh and I have bones. Where's the blood? It's not mentioned. No blood
is mentioned when you have Adam and Eve in a body that God created
before they fell now. It's flesh and bone, no blood's
mentioned. Why is that? Jesus Christ resurrected. He
has a glorified body when He rose from the dead. He has flesh,
He has bones mentioned. There's no blood that's mentioned.
Go to Philippians 3. Philippians 3, verse 20. The Bible says, "...for our conversation
is in heaven, from whence also we look for the Savior, the Lord
Jesus Christ." We have an upward look, by the way. That's the
blessed hope. We understand that. That's what it's talking about.
We're not earthly minded. And we have something to hope
for. Watch what it says in verse 21, "...who shall change our
vile body that it may be fashioned like unto His glorious body,
according to the working whereby He is able even to subdue all
things unto Himself." Well, when Jesus showed up in His resurrected
body, flesh and bones are mentioned, what wasn't mentioned? I don't
think blood was there. He had a glorified body. What's
a glorified body? It's a body without sin. Did
Adam and Eve, were they created before sin? They had a body without
sin because they didn't sin until they sinned then something happened
with their body Sin, right? Well Jesus Christ. He has got
a resurrected body says flesh and bones. No bloods mentioned
second Adam second Adam Have you trusted Christ? I've trusted
Christ Are we going to get a glorious body like him? What is our body
like now it's vile and It's vile. It's sinful. It weighs us down.
It causes us to fight against what God wants us to do. We're
going to get a body like His. It's not going to be vile anymore.
It's going to be what, everybody? Glorified. It's going to be a
glorified body. I think the glorified body is
not only a body without sin, but it's a body without blood. When you get a new body and I
get a new body, it's not going to have blood in it. Here's why
I think that. I know you know the verse. Let's
turn there. 1 Corinthians. Go to 1 Corinthians. Chapter 15. 1 Corinthians 15.
Talk about the resurrection here in v. 42. 1 Corinthians 15, v. 42. I want to read some verses
here. So also is the resurrection of
the dead. It is sown in incorruption. It is raised and in corruption. It is sown... I'm sorry. Yeah, it is sown in
corruption. It is raised and in corruption.
It is sown in dishonor. It is raised in glory. You're
going to get a glorified body. It's going to be raised in glory.
It is sown in weakness. It is raised in power. It is
sown a natural body. It is raised a spiritual body.
Our glorified body will be a spiritual body, right? We get that. There
is a natural body and there is a spiritual body. Well, amen.
And so it is written, the first man Adam was made a living soul. The last Adam was made a quickening
spirit. How be it that was not first,
which is spiritual, but that which is natural, and after that,
which is spiritual. The first man is of the earth,
earthy. The second man is the Lord from
heaven. as is the earthy such are they
that are earthy and as is the heavenly such are they also that
are heavenly and as we have borne the image of the earthy we shall
also bear the image of the heavenly first adam versus last adam now
i say this brethren watch this that flesh And blood cannot inherit
the kingdom of God, neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. Well, the body's been taken care
of because it's not flesh, it's glorified. It's not vile, it's
a glorified body. We see that in the text. But then we're told, so our body's
going to be, the flesh will be taken care of. You're going to
get something that you've never had before. It's not gonna be vile
anymore, it's gonna be glorified. Okay, so fine, we got that taken
care of. But if you got blood in you, you can't get in the
kingdom of God. It says flesh and blood cannot inherit the
kingdom of God. Now that spiritual kingdom, apparently
we can't go there with blood in our system. There's something
wrong. There's something wrong with
our blood. Vile body has blood in it and
sin in it. A glorified body, no sin in it,
no blood in it. That's what I think. I also think
that our problem is, our problem is our blood. We've got a blood
problem. Go to Genesis chapter number
3. We're going to learn about the most organic, don't get mad
at me, whole food No pesticides in the ground. None. It's in
the garden. It's completely natural. It's
organic. Genesis chapter 3. Look at verse number 1. Now the
serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which
the Lord God had made. He said unto the woman, Yea, hath God
said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden. And the woman
said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit, of the trees
of the garden. You couldn't have had more scrumptious,
delicious fruit. But of the fruit of the tree
which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat
of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And so they
thought that that was the most natural and organic and scrumptious
fruit out there. They were told, don't eat that.
And Adam and Eve created something in their mind. They created a
narrative in their mind that said, I've got to have that,
because God said, don't have that. Tell them we don't do that
a lot. And the serpent said unto the
woman, Ye shall not surely die, which was a lie. For God doth
know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be open,
and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. And when the woman
saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant
to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she
took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her
husband with her, and he did eat." Probably nobody knows this better
than Will and Kimmy in nutrition and medical stuff. What you eat affects what? How you feel and your overall
health. If you've got too much sugar
in your blood, what happens? What you eat. Everything that
you and I eat ends up in our blood system. How do people die? Blood problems. Artery stuff. You get into an accident. You
lose blood to your brain. You lose blood to your heart.
You hit 50 and you've got to get your blood checked because
you can find out cancers in the blood. It's your blood. You can't
stay alive unless you have good blood. You get a bad cancer,
they're going to have to filter out your blood and they're going
to have to filter in new, fresh, pure blood so that you can stay
alive. Nobody can stay alive unless
they have enough blood and the right blood with the right blood
counts. And without that, we die. Who is tempting Eve in the garden? That would be
the serpent, right? If you get bit by a venomous
snake, what does it attack? What does it get into? It gets
into your blood, man. It gets into your blood. There's
something wrong with our blood. We got blood disease. We really
do. We got major, major problems. We got venom in our blood. So
what am I saying? I don't know. I don't see the
first Adam, I don't see when he was created, no mention of
blood. Now maybe there's another reason,
rather than the reason I'm going to give you. So I don't know
for sure. But I see that flesh and blood, And then I see Christ
resurrected body, He's flesh and bones, flesh and bones and
flesh and bones, right? First Adam, last Adam. And then
I see in 1 Corinthians 15, hey look, blood cannot inherit, flesh
and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God. When you have peace between God,
what shows up over and over in the Scriptures? We said in the
beginning, water. What if Adam's circulatory system
was pure water? Now, I'm not saying that for
a hundred percent fact. All I'm saying is, I don't see
any blood in his body when it's mentioned in Genesis. And I see
flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God. I see Christ
coming back with a glorified body and it's no blood in it. There's no blood at all. And
we're going to get a body like that. So our glorified body is
going to be a body without blood in it. We got a blood problem. So he ate a piece of fruit and
he went into diabetic shock. Amen. That's what Adam did. He ate that fruit, went into
diabetic shock. What if his circulatory system
got completely changed by eating organic, pesticide-free fruit? And just like that, it messed
up his system. His blood is his problem. My
blood is my problem. You know what? Every man and
woman from Adam, we've got bad blood, we've got a bad seed. Now watch what God did in Genesis
3. You know what He did. We'll just
read it together again. Look at verse 17. Watch what God does.
In verse 17. And unto Adam he said, because
thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife..." My, my,
my. My, my, my. There's some preaching
right there. Roger, you aren't going to be
yawning on this one. This is good preaching right here. Was Adam deceived,
brother? Adam wasn't deceived. Eve was. But I tell you what, there's
a lot of ladies that have deceived their husband and going away they shouldn't
have gone. But Adam wasn't deceived. But
he paid for it, because he hearkened unto the voice of his wife. I
mean, you can preach that the other way too, where there should
be some fellows that listen to their wives, because they're
trying to be a help. There's that too. Both will preach. Both will preach, and both are
right. And it says, "...hath eaten of the tree of which I
commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it." Well, what's
the consequence? Cursed is the what? ground. So God curses the
ground for thy sake, and sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the
days of thy life. Thorns also and thistles shalt
bring forth to thee, and thou shalt eat the earth of the field."
And it goes on. I want to eat as healthy as I
can. So I'm not trying to talk anybody
out of eating better. I think that we should. God gave
us a body. Let's take care of it. Let's
be a good steward of the vessel He allows us to be housed in.
Take care of your body. I believe that's scriptural.
I believe that's right. So, what I'm about to say isn't
to try to talk someone out of eating better. If the ground is cursed, which
God said He cursed the ground, and all of our food comes from
the ground, guess what our food is? Cursed. It don't matter if you've got
a bleached chicken or not a bleached chicken. I mean, I'd rather have
the non-bleached chicken. But it comes from a cursed ground. I'd rather have meat from the
Martinez's than meat from Walmart because I know it's not been
injected with a bunch of stuff. That's what I want. I want to
try to stay as healthy as I can. I think that's scriptural. That's
a biblical principle. However, both of them come from
a cursed ground. The food's cursed. And what happens? It gets in our blood. Our blood's
messed up. Our blood's messed up. Everything
we eat affects our circulatory system. And we can't live forever
in this body. It's impossible. Who's going to cure your blood
disease? Who's going to cure my blood disease? Jesus Christ
as the great what? The great physician can cure
your blood disease and my blood disease. I think our blood's
the problem. In Exodus 7, the first public
miracle that we see in the Old Testament was water into what? Blood. God took water, water, first public miracle,
and turned it into blood. They didn't want to let God's
people go. God says, I'm going to bring judgment on you. You
don't want my people to have peace? You don't have peace with
me? There's no peace. There's going to be no flowing
water. I'm going to shut the water supply
down. He turns it into blood. He knocks out their water supply.
That plague pictured judgment. It pictured death. There's no
peace with God? You don't want to give my people
peace? I'm cutting off the flowing water. That was the first public
miracle in the Old Testament. You know what the first public
miracle in the New Testament was? John 2, what did Jesus take? Water, and He turned it into
wine. You know what wine is a type
of in the Bible? Blood. Wine is a type of blood. You say, Brother Jimmy, I don't
believe that. Well, that's why I wrote Deuteronomy 32. Let's
go there. Deuteronomy 32. This one's just for you, Roger.
Deuteronomy 32. Look at this. This is in v. 14. Deuteronomy 32, v. 14, "...butter of kind," that's
cow and milk of sheep, "...and fat of lambs and rams of the
breed of Bashan, and goats with fat of kidneys of wheat, and
now that it's drank," here it is, "...the pure blood of the
grape." The pure blood of the grape. He turns water into wine. That
wine is a type of pure blood. Now, I'm going to save a lot
of this because we're going to get into John 2 eventually. And
I want to save it for Sunday morning because I want everybody
to hear about Jesus' first miracle. So we'll save a lot of this.
But just know, Deuteronomy 32, we see this pure blood of the
grape. That wine that Jesus turned water
into wine By the way, water don't ferment, folks. Just in case
anybody thinks Jesus is a bartender in John 2, water doesn't ferment. You might get a watermelon to
sit out and ferment after a while, but you ain't gonna get water.
Anyway, Deuteronomy 32, pure blood of the great. Look at 1
John 5. 1 John 5. 1 John 5, verse 8, and there are three
that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the
blood, and these three agree in one. When you see, and the
blood, in 1 John 5, 8, it's referring to the pure blood that was shed
on Calvary's tree. And that pure, precious blood
that the Lord Jesus Christ shed, it is, it was, it is, and it
always will be the precious, pure blood of the Son of God.
It testified to the fact that the man Christ Jesus truly died,
He truly shed His blood, You don't have to turn there. I jotted
down the verse. John 19, it talks about one of the soldiers with
a spear pierced his side and forthwith there came out blood
and water. It's a testimony. It said, and
he saw and bare record, and his record is true, and he knoweth
that he saith true that ye might believe. That soldier that pierced
Christ with a scythe, it was water and blood. 1 John 5.8. And there are three that bear
record in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood. Every time we partake of the
Lord's Supper, we are remembering that pure, precious blood that
was shed for you, and for me, and for the sins of all. Our problem is we've got a blood
problem. The solution is the great physician. He's got pure,
precious blood. 100% pure. you test His blood, there's not
going to be any contamination in it. Go to Acts 17. None of us can
escape it. Acts 17, verse 26. Acts 17, verse 26. Verse 25,
"...neither is he worshipped with man's hands, as though he
needed anything, seeing he giveth to all life and breath and all
things, and hath made of one blood all nations of men, for
to dwell on all the face of the earth." This one blood of all
the nations on the face of the earth Everybody knows this verse. It's obvious that all of us are
related. We all come from Adam. We are
all one blood. We have the same blood. This
is your verse to combat racism. One of the verses to combat racism.
Well, your skin color is different. Your blood ain't. We all come
from the same seed. We all come from the same blood.
Adam, first Adam. One blood of all nations upon
the earth. Two more verses and then we'll
be done. Leviticus 17 and 1 Peter 1. And then we'll
close out. Leviticus 17 and 1 Peter 1. Alright, Leviticus 17. We'll
do this one first. I know this is another familiar
one. But it says in v. 11 of Leviticus 17, I'll look at v. 11, "...Whatsoever
man there be of the house of Israel or of the strangers that
sojourn among you, that eateth any manner of blood..." It was
forbidden. No blood. Absolutely forgiven. All of these
movies and stories and books that have to deal with It's all
from the devil, folks. Vampires and the like, when they're
drinking blood and doing all that stuff, all that's wicked
stuff. A Christian shouldn't even entertain that at all. I'm pointing it out so that you
know that it's out there, and then stay away from it. Don't
start diving deep into that stuff, learning all the detail. That's
not for us to learn. It's for us to stay away from.
Look, that stuff's real, and it'll hurt you spiritually. Don't
get involved. Don't let your children get involved
in any of that stuff. None of that stuff. So we're
given that warning, and then it says, I will even set my face
against the soul that eateth blood. We'll cut him off from
among his people. And then verse 11 is the verse
we all know. For the life of the flesh is in the blood. we're going to eventually die
because our blood, it doesn't work anymore. It's gone stale. It's gone bad. Life of us is
in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make
an atonement for your souls. For it is the blood that makes
an atonement for the soul. Because our blood is bad, We
need someone who has pure and precious blood to shed it for
us and die for us. Because our blood's bad. Go to
1 Peter 1 and we'll close here. 1 Peter 1, verse number 18. For as much as you know that
you were not redeemed with corruptible things as silver and gold from
your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers,
but with the precious blood of Christ as of a lamb without blemish
and without spot. No other blood would do. Ours
is messed up. Now whether you believe or think
that Adam's circulatory system was water first and then changed
to blood, at this point is irrelevant. In this verse, we all can agree,
and we all should recognize, you got bad blood, and you're
going to need a sacrifice to atone for you. And life of the
flesh is in the blood, you're only going to have life in the
one who shed his pure blood, and you will have eternal life
with that one.
